For the first time in West Hartford, acclaimed guitarist Daniel Salazar will bring his spectacular GUITAR UNDER THE STARS program to University of Saint Joseph!

This year's program will highlight the fusion of World Music Styles in a remarkable multicultural artistic collaboration. Salazar will be performing his original music and brilliant symphonic arrangements with an impressive group of international musicians.

This grand event also includes outstanding local talent. Joining the program will be the Virtuoso Orchestra Ensemble, comprised of top players from Connecticut's own Hartford Symphony.

The Hartt Community Division Guitar Quartet , a group of talented young musicians, will present a pre-concert performance

Founded in 1993, Guitar Under the Stars is a large-scale outdoor concert production that has become one of the Connecticut’s most popular concert events. Traditionally held at the Hartford Riverfront, this year the University of Saint Joseph will host Guitar Under The Stars as a beautiful way to celebrate community and music.

Guitar Under The Stars incorporates imaginative and bold programming with flamenco-inspired melodies and Latin infused rhythms. The exhilarating program includes Salazar's highly popular repertoire of original compositions as well as symphonic arrangements highlighting the beautifully expressive sound of the Spanish classical guitar. The music also combines an eclectic blend of orchestral instruments with traditional South American instruments such as Andean flutes and a full array of Latin and world percussion.

Admission is free. Seating is first come first serve, and audience members are encouraged to bring lawn chairs.
