I am a Connecticut resident and guitar lover located in Shelton CT. I work with the VA in West Haven and Newington and will be beginning a guitar building class for veterans. We want to design the class to enable veterans in building acoustic guitars while also teaching or improving their guitar playing and knowledge.
The point would be to give them a guitar at the end of the class they know how to play and built from their hands. I have experience building electrics but never acoustics and am wondering if anyone out there would be able to point me in the right direction regarding acoustic building instructions, resources for materials (tonewoods and fret and neck woods), just general advice on building acoustic 6-string guitars.
